HAMMONTON — Facebook selected the Eagle Theatre to host a global event.

On Wednesday, the year-round equity theater will be one of the official hosts of the #SheMeans Business 24-hour live event for International Women’s Day.

Over 100 female entrepreneurs, NGOs, business owners and leaders will participate worldwide. The theater is the only organization in New Jersey to be selected by Facebook.

Facebook launched #SheMeansBusiness last year to support women. The event is open to everyone and encourages others to start their own conversations using the hashtag.

The live panel discussion will include host and Eagle board member Chhaya Rowan; Linda Cashan, owner of Casciano Coffee Bar & Sweetery in Hammonton; Meghan Leahy, founder of Leahy Learning; and Norma Percodani, owner of Chroma Beauty Bar in Hammonton.

Viewers can watch the live Facebook broadcast at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at facebook.com/the eagletheatre.

This year, the Eagle Theatre will also be rolling out a New Works Development Series focused on the “unique voices” of women writers in professional theater. The first New Works Play Reading is “The Private Resource,” 7:30 p.m. March 27 by Marlena Lustik.
